Little Birthday Angels
July 2025 Non-Profit Spotlight

Who We Are
In August 2014, Brian and Angel Pietsch and their two sons, Hunter and Seth, were inspired to begin their organization when it was brought to their attention that a local shelter did not have the extra funds to celebrate a young girl named Destinee’s birthday. Thanks to the helping hands and hearts of many volunteers and supporters, Little Birthday Angels was given its wings and is now celebrating one birthday at a time for many homeless children living in our community.
Little Birthday Angels partners with agencies across the Treasure Coast of Florida. Our programs serve babies, young children and teens living in homeless shelters, transitional housing facilities and domestic violence shelters. We currently serve children associated with the following agencies:
Little Birthday Angels is a 501c3 nonprofit organization currently serving on the Treasure Coast of Florida.

What We Do
BIRTHDAY BAGS OF HOPE
For homeless children not living in a shelter, we connect with the school district's homeless advocate. They share with us the age, gender, and birthday of each child. We provide a large duffle bag, socks, shoes, clothing, wrapped gifts, a bible, and other essential items for each child. Placing everything into a duffel bag gives them something to keep their personal items in, and provides privacy for them. Everything is delivered to the child by the school's homeless advocate.
SHELTER BIRTHDAY BAGS
Our birthday celebrations begin with a connection with the shelters that we serve. They share with us who is celebrating their birthday the following month, and provide us with a wish list. We thoughtfully choose gifts and essential items for the birthday gifts. It is our goal to create pure excitement and joy for these children. Some of these children have never had “their” day celebrated.
If you heart calls you to help....here is how:
The Birthday Workshop welcomes volunteers on Wednesdays from 10:00am-1:00pm (Registration is required). Work includes selecting and wrapping gifts for our Birthday Bags of Hope, checking in donations, shopping for wish list items, organizing workshop shelves, or putting together candy bags or snack kits.
We are in need of delivery teams for the upcoming school year to deliver the birthday bags to schools in St. Lucie and Indian River Counties, and to the local shelters in Indian River County and Martin County. Teams of 2 will be assigned a given route for delivery using the Little Birthday Angels van. Some delivery dates can be flexible and if we have enough teams, it is anticipated that each team will only need to deliver 1 or 2 days a month.
