Who We Are

The sunny small town of Fort Pierce, Florida got a bit dimmer. Britney Lee and her friend Santia Feketa were tragically killed in a head on collision. A 99 year old driver was driving his RV the wrong way on a divided highway with no lights on. The girls were killed instantly. My life stopped, but through tragedy comes change. It is through the strength of Britney Lee that I have decided to carry out the mission she was not able to do.

Britney Lee was and still is a ray of sunshine in so many people’s lives. Of course as a parent, we always think our kids are the best! I knew she had a huge heart, but after her death, I found out how huge. The stories, the laughter, the tears from so many people about how Britney affected their life was overwhelming. She always stood up for the underdog, no matter what grief it may have brought her, she encouraged people to stand up for what they believed in and was the ‘go-to’ person for advice. All of these accomplishments at such a young age. As I sat at her funeral, I met so many people that said “Britney was my best friend”….that is what she did… she made you feel as if you were in that moment in time, so special. She brought groups of people together, she accepted people for who they were and encouraged them to embrace what makes them happy.

Britney Lee lit up whatever room she walked into, much like the rays of the sun shining through a dark cloud, she was the sunshine in so many people’s lives when their sky was gray.



Through my grief, love and devotion to my daughter, I am continuing to spread some “Britney Lee Sunshine.”

Each year on December 15th, we honor her beautiful spirit by celebrating her birthday with a special party filled with love and purpose. In Britney’s memory, every guest brings a new, unwrapped toy, which we donate to children in need, helping make sure they feel the warmth and wonder of Christmas, too.

Through your generosity, we keep Britney’s light shining and her love for making people happy alive.
