Safe Families for Children
March 2026 Non-Profit spotlight

Who We Are
Safe Families for Children (SFFC) is a faith-based movement passionate about family preservation to keep children safe and families together. We exist to host children and wrap family-like support around parents facing crisis. Our goal is to gather one million change agents willing to stand with us to help keep kids safe and out of the foster care system.
We partner with churches to mobilize volunteers into caring, compassionate communities so families can get back on their feet and reunite with their children. Our main objectives are family support and stabilization, preventing abuse and neglect, and deflecting children from unnecessarily entering the foster care system. Our unique model brings local churches and communities together to protect children and preserve families.

What We Do
Safe Families for Children – Treasure Coast surrounds families in crisis with caring, compassionate community. We are a nonprofit, volunteer movement serving Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin counties. We create extended family–like supports for struggling, isolated families through a community of devoted volunteers who are motivated to keep children safe and keep families together.
If you heart calls you to help....here is how:
MONTHLY DONATIONS HELP US TO:
- Create a healthy and sustainable funding stream.
- Enables us to focus on families not always fundraising.
- Allows one time sign-up for financial giving commitment.
- Creates less administrative work for both donor and organization.
If you are looking for a truly rewarding and life changing experience, consider becoming a Safe Families volunteer. You will make a lasting impression on a child in need and possibly change the trajectory of a family facing a crisis. Volunteers serve on the frontline of the Safe Families movement.
Without families opening their homes and opening their hearts, we could not care for vulnerable children and at-risk families in our communities. Our Circle of Support (COS) has many opportunities for all ages and stages of life to surround families with caring, compassionate communities.
Be a part of our village!
